While in heavily bombed areas or areas of battles, home and businesses were brought down to rubble. Death can be looked at many ways in a war. There are those killed who are in the military. There are those unfortunate city folk. However in WW2, there is another group to look at. The annihilation of one specific race. The different death totals include:
Military death total: 22 to 30 million Civilian Deaths by inhuman crimes: 19 to 30 million Civilian Deaths by infections and disease: 19 to 25 million Total deaths: 60 to 85 million people died in WW2 In the entirety of WW2, about 3.4 million tons of bombs were dropped by just the Allies. With those tons of bombs, 61 German cities were attacked roughly destroying 3.6 million homes. |
Effect Then |
Each country in the World in 1945 when the war ended, were affected differently. The United states flourished after the war ended. Since no damage was done tot he United States area itself, the United States they did not have to pay for damage. This then helped the US out of the depression and helped the economy greatly improve. Military also improved leaving the United States top dog fro Economics and MIlitary. Other countries in Europe were not so lucky. Germany was left in almost complete distraction. Many cities were brought down to ruble and the country was separated into 4 sections. These sections were controlled by the surrounding powers. England as a country was left devastated by both lost of cities and lost of people. On the flip side, even thought Russia had mass destruction, the war helped them create a stronger army and a stronger science program. This then lead to Russia being the first country to reach outer space.

Effect Now |
World War 2 has influence the world today in the aspects of war. We still have war present in our world today but we no longer use atomic bombs. After the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, no other Atomic bomb has been dropped in the world. More countries have develop nuclear bombs, leaving the world a bit unstable during war times. Other effects include space travel. Without the brightest in sciences coming together in one country, we would have gotten to space a lot later than we originally had, meaning the space progress would be a lot less. Lastly the war helped create the United Nations. The United Nations still influences the world today by providing help and guidance to countries that are part of the United Nations.
